@Bruce: I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. I recommend, with whatever program you use, to use a few random pic and use each tool at least once. I don't remember the price for my specif program but there are alternate ways to obtain it if you do that kind of thing. I would recommend the one I have because all of the tools are pretty straight forward. Some tools have a drop down menu that lets you use a different function for that tool. For example you can bring up the drop down menu for the eraser and select "Magic Eraser". One click can erase a full color. and it has a ton of special effect options.
