Highlander Match: Kratos vs Heishiro Mitsurugi
Snafu's Notes: I was watching Highlander. Bah.
Kratos and Mitsurugi have been at each others' throats for centuries. They are, after all, Immortal, having shed their mortal lives to live forever...that is, until you lose your head.
In his mortal life, Kratos was once known as Leonidas, the legendary Spartan King who died with his 300 Spartans at Thermoplyae.
Founded on the battlefield by Juan Ramírez, Leonidas is given the run-down on the Immortals, and the rules of the Game.
Understanding that his old life as Leonidas is forever gone, he takes the name of Kratos and wanders the earth, ganing experience as an Immortal using a paid of blades named after his patron goddess, Athena.
Heishiro Mitsurugi's immortal life began when he was killed during the Shimabara Rebellion in 1638. Originally a bodyguard to Amakusa Shiro, he took a spear to the heart and died instantly.
He was discovered by (surprise!) Connor Macleod, who was masquerading as a Dutch merchant. Like Ramirez, Connor explains the rules to a baffled Mitsurugi, who quickly understands what is at stake.
Centuries later, after several near-misses, Kratos - working as a mercenary for hire - catches up with Mitsurugi, going under the alias Watanabe Kenshiro, researcher - at last.
This time, there will be no running.
The battle will take place at Gifu Castle.
I would say the motto, but why bother. Who wins?
