Villain is a matter of perspective. Most villains think they're on the side of right, or uniquely qualified to lead or control everything. That they have some perfect vision and that the heroes are evil for denying their greatness or stopping their superior vision.
Well, alot of villains. Some guys like Darkseid, Despero, Dormammu and MJJ are just assholes. 😛 They just enjoy being evil.
