Actually that was after the whole homosexual thing. The limited happened at the end of Alpha Flight vol.1, and by then he already revealed he was gay.

my grandpa had the first ever Batman comic, but its a depressing story what happened to it, the family doesnt like to talk about it . . .
My neighbors dad supposedly had the first issue of Superman. He claims he took it along with other collectible valuables to his mothers house when he had a child so none of it would get accidentally torn up by a crazy toddler.
I didnt believe him and neither did his son so he called his mother and asked her about it just so we could hear it from her lips. She said she threw that stuff out because she didnt think he wanted it anymore. I dont know if i believe he was telling the truth or not . . . but he was in the military for an extremely long time and a real tough guy, and after he got off the phone with his mom he cried his eyes out hehe
I have a copy of Uncanny X-Men #94, the first new issue (67-93 were reprints of older issues) and the first regular series issue with the All-New X-Men. Thunderbird, Count Nefaria, etc. Highly graded, it can garner a couple thousand, mine's not perfect or anything, but all the pages are there, got it from my dad.
My father has some similar comic book stories, he had two issues of the first issue of X-Men, Avengers, Spider-Man most of the early 60s Marvel stuff. However as a kid he was stubborn and one day he came home from school to find my grandmother had "cleaned" his room. She opened his second story window and tossed all of his shit onto the lawn, much of it was ruined.
I've got an assload of old Hulk books including 180/181 and a bunch of the old "What If?"s, but none of them are in the best of shape. I've got all the Secret Wars books as well, but they're not in tip-top condition either.
I have lots of old books, it's just that I don't know which ones are truly worth something and which ones aren't.
