Depends on your choice in unis really, if you pick an ex-polytech you can get into courses with 2 E's... But if you pick a good uni, you can easily be looking at 3 A's, and there is always the chance that you won't even get an offer from any universities.

Rowling's education system in the Potter books is similar to the English system though, minus the magic; OWLS are GCSEs and NEWTS are A Levels.
