Re: Re: Should women be allowed to speak their minds?

This a very absurd question...this is a rhetorical question with an obvious answer. The vast majority of posters on this message board are "Westerners" and women are allowed to speak their mind in their respective country...whether or not the men want them to. Actually even giving thought to this subject empowers the idea that women should not be given the right to speak their minds so this should not be pondered by westerners. This same logic applies to the thought of racism: If everyone thinks about and discusses racism all the time, it empowers that thought of racism itself. This is not to say that racism should not be pondered on one level or another, but it should not be given the right of being discussed and thought about all the time. These types of thoughts condition the mind to the concept of racism, “genderism”, etc. to the point that some subconsciously develop racist tendencies without even wanting to. In some cases, this can even surface to conscience thought and become counterproductive to original point of discussion.
yeah, but i am not starting topics of "if women should" talk or speak their minds ALL the time, we have had a couple of cultural-related threads (arranged marriages) that seem contrary to "western" thought, so at that point, why wouldn't someone start a thread on something counter-western, as that decision maybe inspired by a previous decision that was already counter-western in philosophy?
We're just a bit more verbal at times, that's all.
It's like this with the mood swing thingie, we are still thinking the same things, but have enough compassion for your species not to tell you.......but then this little something happens called the truth.. Our male atributes kick in then you see flying sandwiches......🙄

The whole "mood swings make women unreliable" just gets my hackles up sometimes. Probably because plenty of women I have known have seemed more level headed then some guys and never once revealed any sign of "mood swings". But maybe they just managed to separate their personal lives from their professional lives.
Sure it can happen, but some people just seem to exagerate it a bit.

Oh, I hear ya. That's why I have a problem with women having positions of power. I've know too many women like that. They cry or get angry instead of analyzing themselves.Sorry, but that's how I feel.
But then that is a person unsuitable for a job, not a gender unsuitable for a job - you just have to look at Indira Gandhi, Helen Clark, Jenny Shipley, Aung San Suu Kyi or the Iron Lady herself - Margaret Thatcher.
If a person isn't suitable for a position of power, be it CEO, Prime Minister or the Dean of a university then they just aren't suitable, gender is irrelevant.
