But it's practically a tradition for Ultimates to be spectacularly late...
So maybe it's not Jim Lee. 😖hifty:
Could the artist then be...
ALEX ROSS?
I remember him saying something upon his return to Marvel - with Avengers/Invaders - about how he was looking forward to drawing Bryan Hitch's design of Ultimate Iron Man.
Hmmm...
He's just plotting & doing covers for Avengers/Invaders. He must be working on something else right now; top secret?

Been reading some reviews and looks like Leob facked up again, what else is new? comon Marvel get rid of his over paid and overrated ass. IMO Marvel will see the light soon like the producers did for Heroes and fire his ass.

It's still never been resolved what Banner/Hulk's fate was, at the conclusion of Ultimates 2, has it? In legal terms.
He can't be prosecuted for the same crime twice after being convicted and executed( but surviving - with Hank Pym's help?)
Well he wasn't technically executed was he? It'd be the equivalent of the electric chair not working.....

Well, the sentence was carried out. That there were no witnesses... 😬Unless he gets a Presidental pardon for his help in defeating the liberators.
Possibly, although he didn't get a pardon for eating the leader of an alien race hellbent on destroying several dimensions including ours
I am done with Loebs Ults...sick of them and their crap.
New Ults coming in 09...

Looks good, Millar was born to write ultimates.....

Hey gang, Dante here with a quick update for all you Ultimate Universe fans that can’t get enough of Ultimate Cap (you can count me into that group BTW). It has been announced that Mark Millar’s next big project for Marvel will be Ultimate Avengers. The man who first brought us Ultimate Cap will take the reins once again and bring us all new tales of action and adventure.
For those of you not in the know Ultimate Avengers and the Ultimate line are updated versions of Marvels classic characters. Sometimes the treatment works (Ultimate Spider-Man), and sometimes it doesn’t (Ultimatum) but it’s all fun if you know what I mean. Here’s hoping that Millar can recapture the magic from the first Ultimates series.
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the new characters we might be seeing in Ultimate Avengers.
Gregory Stark:
Apparently Tony Stark has a older, smarter brother who is a genius. He has blonde hair, and wears white suits and is supposed to be the antithesis of his wild partying little brother. This is an interesting development because I never really liked Iron Man and like Ultimate Iron Man even less. I don’t understand the character I guess and just don’t see what the big deal is. I will admit however that Millar did make him cool to a certain degree but a brother? Atleast he’s not an evil twin but hell, he might as well be. This character might end up hurting this story, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The New Black Widow:
Making the Black Widow a bad guy was a cool move that surprised a lot of people. Bringing in another one will likely add spice to the story especially considering that she will be even more connected to Nick Fury than the first woman to carry the name. The idea is that she’s Nick Fury’s ex-wife and reports directly to the new SHIELD boss Carol Danvers. This little addition will give the story some serious depth to say the least, and it will be fun to see Nick Fury put in this tense situation with his ex who Mark Millar describes as a total *****.
Ultimate Red Skull:
I’m really leery about this character that is touted about as Cap’s illegitimate son. I just don’t know about that idea. It really separates the Ultimate line from the main stream Marvel line but I don’t quite know if it’s good storytelling. It has however peeked my interest, but I get the feeling that I’m going to be disappointed.
All in all I have mixed feelings about this new offering, but as always I hope I’m wrong and that the book is as fantastic as the original Ultimates. Jeph Loeb is busy making that task more difficult with that god awful Ultimatum (EVERYBODY DIES RUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!) book, but here's hoping that Marvel can rebound.
