I can think of many, many times when Slade could have used those damn grenades... but he hasn't. I figure Slade just brings them when he knows he is going to need them, which means it requires some degree of prep and isn't in his standard equipment.
Even if he has the grenades is it a good idea to use them in the in closed space they are fighting in?

Anyways, they are timed, so with his immensely superior mind he can judge when/how/what/where/why/how the grenades will land and how far away he should be.

I've seen Slade do some pretty awesome stuff for a mortal. I'm talking Batman level stuff. (Though he's still not god.. sorry Deathstroke..)
He WOULD make quick work of Wolverine had it not been for two factors, his healing bodily function, and his admuntanium skeleton. Bullets to the head, karate smashers, staff beatings, it's all moot because Wolverine will just keep on comeing back for more untill he's succesfuly ripped apart Deathstroke's innards.
Till Slade starts getting explosives involved and stuffs him down Wolvie's throat..
That battle would be very long, very hard, and most likely Slade would have to retire after such an encounter, but I think he would win..

He doesn't NEED to, we're talking about beating someone, not killing them. Slade is faster and stronger than Wolverine, with the same healing level, with good armor. His sword and staff made out of adamantium equivelent, and much much faster reflexes, and better senses. Wolverine is outclassed in EVERY way except adamantium-skeleton. Slade puts him down hard.
