slade IS pretty damn awesome but then again, hes been beaten by nightwing.
A few issues ago in Nightwings own comic, Deathstroke KOed him in a single kick.
And Nightwing sucker-attacked him while he wasn't even ready.

Ok, think of it this way:Slade's unbreakable staff was powerful to disintegrate a full sized helicopter, then it got upgraded 600% more powerful to where it is now.
One blast and the fight is over. And since Slade is faster/smarter/stronger, that one blast will connect.

Ever since Slade was made he's held back against heroes and even some anti-heroes. I can count the amount of times he's went bloodlusted on a hero on one hand, and he massacred the guys.
He doesn't hold back against bad guys, and they usually end up in pieces.
When he fought Batman, Slade just wanted to get away.
When he fought Aquaman, Slade just wanted to get away. Same with Hal.
When he fought the entire friggin' titans at once he held back and only tried to hold them at bay so he could get away.
When he fought nightwing, NW even said Slade won't kill him and Slade held back.
When he fought batgirl, he held back so he could let Rose fight her.
When he fought the bronze tiger, he held back and ended up having his first death because he tried to warn BT of deadshot.
When he fought Damage, he held back.
When he fought Starfire recently, he held back.
He hardly doesn't even use his staff anymore, probably because there aren't many people without ungodly durability who can handle it's power.
If Slade comes out, full charged staff, ready with his grenades and bloodlusted, he's not street level what-so-ever.
Ah, the battle of the Jobber Aura. Both definately are the two biggest jobbers in comics history, with Slade taking the JLA, and Wolverine actually standing a chance against Thanos. To be honest, I can see either side taking this fight. I'm discrediting the JLA and Thanos fights, and taking in fights with people that are on their level. A gun against Wolverine is just a dumb idea. Adamantium skeleton. The bullet would stop at the forehead, then get pushed out by Wolverine's healing factor. That staff could have a good shot at taking him, but when someone points a staff at Wolverine, he's got the common sense to get the f*ck out of the way. When it comes to martial arts, Wolverine is a very skilled martial artist, and also knows Japanese sword fighting. He's also a very strong individual who has kept up with some of the best, like Captain America and The Punisher. Considering his exploits outside of the jobber crud, Wolverine and Slade are near each other in skill. So, I think that it's an even fight, with neither really being able to kill the other.
