Keep in mind that in the episode on which Simone was killed, the teaser said someone dies. I took it to be singular, and considering two people "died", in Simone and Ms. Miracle Ear...it's sort of open ended conspiratorial..ish.
And keep in mind that Mrs. Miracle Ear was not an established character, just like Zane and the chick from the diner. They would only say "Someone dies" if it were an important death.
If you would read up, the woman who plays Simone is leaving the show.
TV Guide chatted up Tawny Cypress who plays Simone Deveaux on Heroes. As you well know Simone bit the bullet, literally, last episode. My first guess was that she wasn’t actually going to die, but somehow survive. This interview with Tawny seems to make it clear that she is indeed a goner. The character is planned to be back on at least two episodes in the future including March 5th.

She's dead...
I think the whole Simone getting shot thing might have just been somekinda rouse by Bennit.
I was wondering why he'd want Issac to be able to kill Peter seeing as how Peter saved Claire and she seems to be his top priority.
However now that she is gone and his memories of her may possibly be erased he may become a much darker shade of grey!
It's disheartening to see that so many people want HRG/Mr. Bennet to die. In many ways, he is the pivot on which the plot of the show turns. The episode commentaries and such on the official website dictate that Bennet's character was originally going to be very minor, and it was a testimony to Jack Coleman's acting (which is phenomenal, by the way, considering how he is pretty much unknown in comparison to the likes of Ali Larter and newcomer Eric Roberts) that HRG became so important.
I don't think he's going to die.

I don't want him to die at all. In fact next to Peter, Bennet is my favorite character. I may not like him as a person but I love his character and what he adds to the show.
I love shades of grey! 😎
Every heard of Riddick! 😮💨
Peter and Nathan both irritate me. Nathan is so slimey and weaselly some times, and so pathetic. Peter can be so incompetent and can be so obtuse that he doesn't care who gets hurt just as long as his piece has been said. Nathan is the same way.
That said, both of them are good at heart. Peter is naive and easily manipulated, though. There's gonna be a showdown between him and Sylar.
