It's far harder to control your thoughts and emotions, then it is to control your actions. We control our actions almost all the time, but thoughts and emotions usually run free and rampant.
Actions can be difficult to control, especially when they are actions you are used to performing but once you cross the barrier of stopping yourself doing the actions you have mastered physical discipline. I agree that emotions and thoughts are harder to discipline, although they can fall into sync with your physical discipline and prove helpful.

I wholeheartedly agree with your second statement. But as far it being harder to control your thoughts and emotions than it is your actions? I don't know about that. What about human impulse. That's mostly uncontrollable but with thoughts and emotions you can at least, sort of fade 'em outta your mind by just ceasing to think about 'em or stop focusing on whatever element is occupying your mind at the time.

You still have to act on impulse in order for impulse to have any result, and you can still control your actions. When it comes to your actions, you always have a choice. No matter what.

Thoughts and Emotions are trickier, but you can certainly take control. When I say control, I don't mean you dictate them, but you do not allow thoughts and emotions to interfere with your happiness and with your life.

Taking control of emotions isn't as hard. Emotions are very easy to manipulate. Intense emotions, such as Heartbreak and romantic feelings, are ofcourse, much more difficult to manipulate, but with time and practice, even though can be tamed.

Taking control of your thoughts is even harder. It requires practice, a pattern of thinking a certain way.

You can't control every single thought, ofcourse, some thoughts are more impulsive, and are more of a reaction to a sudden stimuli, but for the most part, you can control your pattern of thoughts.

Better to kill it and put it out of it's misery.

ur a mysterious women debbie. 🙂 . u almost remind me of sum1 i knew.

{as a thought, ive always found my actions harder to control then my emotions. emotions can be supressed and sealed. actions are harder and farther from the mind.}

Thank you, I think. 😎 😕

The type of discipline here being referred to is self-discipline. It is what keeps a person on track, even though when things get tough and one would really rather be doing something else. A disciplined person knows what needs to be done, and is able to focus on getting it done according to plan. As such, willpower and self-control are essential.

I agree that discipline is to control your, thoughts, action and feelings, even though the feelings and thoughts is harder and also if you want to go far in something discipline is useful there, too.

One could say that the whole point of meditation is to own your thoughts, rather than your thoughts owning you. With ownership of mind comes ownership of emotion and behavior because choice becomes apparent.

That is EXACTLY what I am discussing 👆

I think I should have clarified that earlier.
