As for differing tastes, afaik it has to do with your diet; sea-related diets are salty tasting. So it's less of upkeeping your shit and more what you eat. But no matter how different the taste is, the texture will remain the same UNLESS they're sick.

Yeah I know, I heard celery and some fruits are good diet changes to make it taste better. As far as sickness, yeah, also the salty taste can vary depending on the health and/or number of their sperm.
