Yeah, one thing that scares people away is the prices, nowadays. $40 for a squad? Pfft. Luckily, you can get it much cheaper through eBay. It also helps if you have a hobby shop or comic shop that supports it.

I'm spent for the night, we will continue this and possibly mock Kelly_Bean a little more tomorrow.

I'm just getting back into the game, got my Tyranid army out of the closet and repainting them. I haven't played since the old Rogue Trader days and some of the new rules I like, the bugs are much better now. 😈 I just wish there was a forum here for it 😉

I used to collect mainly to paint (which I enjoyed the most) but if and when I played I was an Eldar/Tyranid/Necron kind of guy.

Yay for the amoral manipulators/ravenous swarm/ancient, unemotional evil kind of races.

The fluff - some of the writing and stories aren't bad (Titans charging super demons because the metal would hurt more then their weapons? Badass).

And yes, the prices are painful. I bet the Deceiver has something to do with it.

And as an aside the Dawn of War series was a pretty good adaption.
