Trying to solve a comic related riddle please help.

All I know is that it's a DC character.

these are the two clues.

1. I owe the king my life
2. I will kill you twice

Can anyone help me out?

Maybe Forerunner? She was saved by monarch, and she was targeting people who had already died and shouldn't exist, so that would make it their second death's.

I'm thinking "The King" might be someone Jack "The King" Kirby made.

It's the 2nd clue thats really tripping me up.

He says it's not forerunner. So I think I'm right about The King being Jack Kirby, so who in the DC Universe that he created would be applicable to the phrase "I will kill you twice" He created the New Gods and apokalips, so maybe it might be someone from that.
