There is a current "Messiah" storyline in the X-Men world, it involves a red-haired female and she is connected to Cable/Cyclops. She's saying she wants to return to the mainstream timeline, on top of all that.
Nothing has been explicitly stated, but do you see where I'm going?
By the way, what issue did Jean "die" in ? I don't read X-Men books.

I think a couple of characters have made oblique hints in that regard... pointing out the red-hair and green eyes.

Hope being Jean is very unlikely. Makes little sense to the story. Hope desire to get to the mainstream universe is because she was raised out side of it by cable. It straight up be weird if Jean was hope and currently Selene is trying to bring back Jean from the deAd to be her slave if not mistaken or to consume her power or something in x-force. Wouldent bishop know hope was jean if that was true as well? wouldent he have tried to kill jean when she was jean and not hope? The only similar similarities they posses are red hair and green eyes. There few characters who posses similar apearences like MJ in spiderman, seem in my opinion a stretch to assume they are one in the same based on same colored hair and eyes, but thats just me.

that's what i meant, though. when i read the comic where colossus died, he was dead. i had to deal with marvel killing off one of my favourite characters.
