Holiday pay? Yeah right...doesn't generally exist in the world of retail/customer service.
New years eve
new years day
MLK day
labor day
memorial day
easter
thanksgiving
christmas eve
christmas day
You seriously dont get any holiday pay for these days? not even Xmas?

Well, I work at Gamestop now, and we're not open on Thanksgiving and Christmas so I don't need to worry about that and the only other 'holiday' I care about is Halloween.
But when I worked at the movie theater, we always had to work holidays and got nothing extra for it. But then again, who gives a shit about the part-timers? There was a ton of us and if someone left, they'd be replaced within a week.
I also worked in a coffee shop which was pretty much the same way. But then again they also expected me to be able to do everything normally when I came back after getting in a car accident and was told I couldn't lift anything heavy or do anything too stressful...
Originally posted by Lanawell, you get to hang out and play free games all day, thats a plus. That reminds me. I am looking for a copy of the original Tekken for ps1, and a copy of the original MGS for ps1. What are the odds of me finding these games at gamestop or gamecrazy?

Gamestop, almost completely non-existent. Very very very few stores carry any PS1 stuff anymore. Game Crazy, chances are a bit higher as they do still have some older stuff but most Game Crazies are shutting down.
Best bet would be to look on Amazon.
And I adore my current job 😛

I like the older Tekken and MGS games, better storylines, but you get crappy graphics. Tekken 2 is my fave, I got lucky and found that one at gamestop.
you know I am a Dante freak. 😛
also, is it just me, or did the last two Onimusha games suck?

DMC4 isn't out yet, I don't know when off the top of my head (don't like DMC and thus don't really care), and it's going to be PS3 and 360.Tekken 3 is the best 😛
And I've never played Onimusha so I wouldn't know.
Tekken 3 is great, but 2 has the best storyline, IMO.
Never played Onimusha? Its like Resident evil based in fuedal Japan..GREAT game, 1 and 2 anyways.

PS1 Play Station 1
DMC4 Devil May Cry 4
MGS Metal Gear Solid
PS3 Playstation 3

Halloween? What a joke, of course you're expected to work then, everyone is.
Basically, if you want stability and flexibility in a job, you need qualifications to get it. If you haven't worked to get them, either start working for them, or, stop moaning.

Note that I had holiday in quotes when I said Halloween. Nor was I complaining about working on that day, my point was I don't give a damn about most holidays (Easter, Labor Day, New Years, etc). I just think it's a fun day.
And I'm a college student working a part-time job to pay for school. I've been working towards those qualifications for a few years already.
And as I've said, I love my current job. I left the movie theater two and a half years ago because it was not worth the hassle. And 'flexibility'? That's the one main advantage of working a part-time retail job - because it IS flexible. I can rearrange my schedule as I need without a single problem.
So, er, try reading before complaining.
