Its just another chance for all the industry to stand in a big circle and do some industrial scale back patting.

The music they celebrate in that show usually sucks.

The fact that it's MTV means it will be pure suckage. All they play is shit like Fallout Boy and various rap pricks. There are few bands and artists good enough to touch the mainstream river of shit that is MTV and come out unchanged. Those bands usually aren't featured in the music awards.
