Well-Then vs. Broken Darkness

What I'm looking for: Stylish, good aesthetic mesh between the render and signature. Basically, the antithesis of my current sig ( 😮 ).

Notes: To download the full-size renders, click on the little floppy disk icon in the lower right hand corner of the page.

Deadline: About a week. Have it in by the end of Sat. the 22nd EST.

Limits: 90 KB max, 550x200 max. There's no penalty if it's smaller, but the larger-than-KMC size limit is there if you need it.

This was supposed to be my entry - but was way too big.

So you have to go with this one...

My original was almost 150 kb. So I redid it. Not sure, but I think it turned out better this way anyway.

Ok then, that was quick.

Okie Dokie.

Alrighty.

Well-Then:

+ Transparency is artfully done
+ Good use on blending and continuity between render and signature
- .gif file....unavoidable because of the limits, but it frays the edges of the render noticably at the top.
- Text. The "BD" in flower-text doesn't quite seem to fit.

Broken Darkness:

+ Background and border are cool, and set a color scheme without being monotonous.
- Text is meh
- Doesn't seem to be any render blending. It matches well enough with the BG, but still just seems to be sitting on top of it, not really a part of it.

Winner:

...despite the .gif stuff, that was just an awesome implementation of the render. The gorilla leaping out of the sig is uber-cool, and the whole thing (sans text) is very foreboding and dark. Very atmospheric.
