Respect Kazuya "Devil" Mishima

Respect the baddest SOB in the Tekken world: Kazuya Mishima

Kazuya Mishima as he currently appears in Tekken 6

Kazuya's background story

Kazuya Mishima is the son of Heihachi Mishima, the long-time Chief Executive Officer of the Mishima Zaibatsu: a powerful worldwide conglomerate and its various subsidiaries. He is also the grandson of Jinpachi Mishima and father of Jin Kazama, having had a relationship with Jun Kazama.

When Kazuya was a five year old child, he was thrown off of a cliff by his father, who claimed that his son was weak. If Kazuya was to be his father's successor to the Mishima Zaibatsu throne, he was to not only survive the fall, but climb back up the rocky cliff as well. Kazuya nearly died from the fall, but his survival was assured through a deal with the Devil, who promised him enough power to take his revenge on his father.

In the years prior to the events of the original Tekken, Kazuya entered martial arts tournaments all over the world, becoming an undefeated champion (only Paul Phoenix ever managed a draw with him.) When the first Tekken tournament was announced, Kazuya took the opportunity for vengeance.

Apathetic towards the tournament's proposed one billion dollar prize and fueled by his hatred for his father, Kazuya won and dropped Heihachi's unconscious body from the same cliff he had been thrown from as a child.

The Zaibatsu became more corrupt than ever under Kazuya's leadership and engaged in many illegal activities such as assassination, extortion, drug dealing and the smuggling of endangered species. A second tournament is also announced. Heihachi, having survived both his battle with Kazuya and the subsequent fall, entered the tournament, having trained and meditated in the hills after his defeat. It is during the events of Tekken 2 that Kazuya meets Jun Kazama and eventually makes her a mother.

The G-corporation found the remains of Kazuya's body and brought him back to life. The means to how they did it are unknown. Kazuya accepted G-corp's offer to study him because he looked to study the secrets of the Devil Gene lurking inside him. This was Kazuya's hobby for 20 years.

Tekken 3

Kazuya is absent during the events of The king of Iron Fist 3.

Tekken 4

Heihachi has been searching for Jin because he desired to splice Devil genes with Ogre gene to create the ultimate creature. During his quest Heihachi found a picture of Kazuya's corpse. He inmediately identified his fallen son and sent a squad of Tekken Force to retrieve the corpse. However what the squad and most importantly Heihachi did not expect was to find out Kazuya was alive. Kazuya angry that Heihachi had ruined his plans once again; decimated the Tekken Force. Heihachi smirks and starts Tekken 4.

Kazuya defeats Lee during Tekken 4 yet again. Then he went on to fight Jin Kazama in the semi-finals. However Jin Kazama was not in time for the fight and Kazuya was moved to the finals by default. Kazuya knew Heihachi was behind Jin's absence and demanded to see his son for his own personal motives--Kazuya desired to retrieve the half of Devil that lurked within Jin. Kazuya lets Heihachi know of his desire to meet with Jin and Heihachi tells him that he will meet with Jin after their fight. After the fight Heihachi took Kazuya to the Honmaru where Kazuya met Jin. Heihachi won. Devil took control of Kazuya once it found Jin. Heihachi was shocked to see Devil, and the entity inmediately gave Heihachi a taste of it's power by blasting him out of the arena with a telekinetic blast. Kazuya then regains control and awakens Jin.

Kazuya is knocked unconscious by a very pissed off Jin Kazama.

Tekken 5

When Kazuya regained consciousness just in time to help his father fight off a squadron of Jack-4s sent to kill him. Father and son fought together for the first time in more than 20 years. However Kazuya not being one to forget his plans for vengence did not hesitate to betray Heihachi by throwing him into the ground and leave him defenseless against the army of Jacks. Kazuya transformed into the Devil and escaped the honmaru's explosion.

YouTube video

Note how Kazuya and Heihachi both shatter the Jacks with single blows. Also note how Kazuya grabs a Jack and throws it against a handful of Jacks with one of them flying several meters away from kazuya and through a wall.

During Tekken 5 Kazuya decides to take vengence on those who betrayed him(G-corp) and gain control over it.

Thanks. What I love about Kazuya is how Namco gave him a personality. He wasn't just yet another Ryu ripoff.

Sado will have multiple joygasms once he sees this.

Tekken 6

Kazuya's Tekken 6 bio:

After taking care of the G Corporation executives that had betrayed him, Kazuya Mishima succeeded in taking the company and controlling it from behind locked doors. Around the same, the Mishima Financial Group, lead by Jin, plunged the world further into chaos when their shady activities intensified.

Not being able to stomach the thought of anyone but himself ruling the world, Kazuya setout to subjugate the Mishima Financial Group’s forces with all of G Corporation’s military might.

View G Corporation’s actions as heroic, the world shouted high praise of admiration for its bravery. After judging G Corporation’s influence had grown to its maximum, Kazuya made great use of the people’s good favor; G Corporation announced that an enormous bounty would be paid to whoever captures Jin alive. And in answer to this move, the Mishima Financial group immediately declared holding The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6.

Jin’s expected response brought a smile to Kazuya’s face.

What ye think of it, Gear? Sado will probably assault me saying I had it all wrong, oh well.

I'm going to post non-canon stuff sometime after I eat.

It's awesome.

But I hate having to see Kaz and Jin fight.

It's just so sad. One is gonna die. I know it.

You can guess who I'm rootin' for.

Besides Kazuya already died so...its Jin's time to hit the fan.

I wonder if Jin has any siblings.

Yeah well lets wander that in the off-topic thread.

Awesome dude...

It's a good thing that broken ground doesn't just disappear and reappear at some other spot on the stage. 😛

Zafina's hot as hell...who the hell is that fat guy?

The fat guy is Bob, he's Steve Fox's cousin.

LOL

I wanna see what his fighting style is.

Time for Kazuya's non-canon endings:

Tekken Tag Tournament

YouTube video

Kazuya fights and defeats Jin. He is unimpressed. As Kazuya is about to leave Jin starts to transform into Devil. Kazuya turns around, smirks and eagerly fights Devil Jin.

Devil ending
YouTube video

Whyare these not canon? Because the entire game is not canon and is as reliable as a soldier with diahrea in a gunfight.

Tekken 2

Jdaztc2L2Es&NR=1

Kazuya has finally defeated the Devil entity trying to take control over his soul. As Kazuya leaves Devil attempts to kill Kazuya with the eye beam...and then Heihachi stands in the way to save his son. At first Kazuya feels forced to stop his father's sacrifice...but then Kazuya remembers everything Heihachi has put him through and has a better idea: hit two ducks with 1 shot. He uses Heihachi as a meat shield and rushes towards Devil. Then once up close and personal he delivers a Thundergod fist and finally defeats Devil.

Why is this not canon? Because Heihachi did not save his son...instead he chose to drop an unconscious Kazuya into a volcano. Yeah...I want a dad like Heihachi. 131

Tekken 4

Kazuya absorbs Jin's Devil
YouTube video

Why is that not canon? Because Jin knocked Kazuya out cold and thus Kazuya didn't get the chance to absorb Jin's Devil.

Tekken 5

Kazuya holds Jinpachi as he dies...then he delivers the finishing blow Kazuya style 😎
YouTube video

Why is this kickass ending not canon? Because Kazuya never entered Tekken 5. Instead he was killing the G-corp executives and taking control of the company. Too bad, I know, because the ending is awesome.

Misc.

Kazuya's surname, 三島 roughly translates to "Third Island". His given name, 一八 means "one eight" in English. The name Kazuya is an anagram of the word Yakuza which is the name of the Japanese mafia.
