The Sacred Heart

One of the many things I like about the Roman Catholic Church (yes, even I like certain things about catholicism) is the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It's basically an illustration of the divine love for humans. Aside from the Cross this is one of most notorious and well known symbols. It is beautifully illustrated in art (which btw I happen to love art) and I find the prayers for the sacred heart poetic.

Aside from any religious issues. Any of you or any family members have even been interested in this symbol?

The Sacret heart, my sweet, is older than the Catholic church..

Except Catholics made it cooler.

Yeah, the artwork of the sacred heart have always fascinate me.

Is it? I thought it was based on visions of JC by some saint or something...

catholics never made anything cooler

I like the Catholic's gothic style, as far as churches go.

Other than art of the Catholic church, I'm not a big fan.

Well it was borrowed by the Christians, but it actually came from a pagan self sacrifice, of really pulling your own heart out, just like the saint that pulled her eyes out. 😱
