It's always been in my philosophy that if there are lots of awkward silences on the phone you obviously have nothing to talk about and should not force conversation. Just say your goodbyes and talk to them another time when you have something to say.

"What if I asked you to marry me" Is a TERRIBLE what if question.

right...and it helps your phone bill also!

I have had like 4/5 hours worth of calls today. faint Don't usually have awkward silences with anyone other than my 9 year old cousin. hmm

I normally 'create' an Akward silence when I want to get off the phone 😛
