Top 10 most influential rappers of the 00's

Started by Impediment3 pages

As much as I like ICP, I agree with AC.

ICP is anything but influential. The only reason ICP has accrued so much success and achieved their notoriety is ecause of their strictly underground style that nobody is willing to imitate, save other artists on the Psychopathic label, and the countless Juggalos that adore their music. I guarantee that if you were to compare a Juggalo and your everday fan of mainstream rap, their views of influential rappers would be polar opposite.

Just because other rappers like Snoop Dogg and Ol' Dirty B@stard have appeared on ICP albums, doesn't make ICP influential.

Let's not turn this into an ICP discussion, please.

AC mentioned them.

None. Hip hop was a phase.
I strongly disagree.

Doom comes to mind for the underground scene.

ICP are a bunch of "cans"

edit:

just read the posts above, and i agree. lets not make this an ICP discussion.

AC made it an ICP discussion. 😐

Kind of funny how everyone who is saying "let's not make it an ICP discussion" actually discusses it.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

top 10 gotta be

50 cent (list would be bullshit without him nealry every elementary school gangster loves the mother ****er)
Eminem ( ridiculously popular at the start of the century)
Dr. Dre (also ridiculosly popular at the start of the century and also because he's association with em n 50)
Jayz ( no need to explain)
Kanye West (at the moment theres nobody bigger than him and because of his antics he will stay in the limelight for quite some time)

In no order and you don't have to like it

50 Cent- responsible for mixtapes becoming big
Jay-Z- top#3 dead or alive
Eminem- best selling rapper
Ludacris- one of the first Southern rappers to blow up
Kayne West- should be no need for explanation
The Game- revived the West Coast
Fabolous- responsible for Rap/R&B songs, the only songs you hear on the radio
Nelly- the 2000 version of LL Cool J
Busta Rhymes
T.I.

hard to say...my picks would probably be 50, kanye, and maybe dmx.

isn't the answer obvious? it's lil weezy.

-50 Cent
-Jay Z
-Wyclef
-Jim Jones
-Eminem
-Andre3000
-Kanye West
-The Game
-Bigge-2Pac (case I still hear them in a lot of rappers today)

What. As much as you may not like him, I think he's had an impact the last few years in the mainstream and underground sector. Arguably the most influential rapper of the decade, 50 cent, has even taken notice of Jones and wants to work with him.

Jim Jones had one song. That's not any impact at all.

yea, i agree.

one hit wonder at best.

HipHop it's self is not a phase.

Eminem
50 Cent
Nelly
T-Pain (Yes he is more RnB but he seems to be in every remix and he made auto tune the "thing" everyone wants. ((He CAN sing btw))
Ludacris (Even my dad likes him)
Ja Rule (Kinda brought around the whole bubble gum rap people are so into now)
DMX
Kanye West
Jay- Z 🙄
Lil Wayne (For how unique he is, he'll be around for quite some time.)

If we were talking RnB-HipHop Usher would be at the top aswell.

Now I'm not into him but he's not a one hit wonder. He's come out with quite a few hits and anytime he's played in the clubs the place goes crazy.

And I say he's had an impact because the unecessary flamboyancy rappers mostly from the east posses now come partly but significantly from his influence, no thanks to "Dip Set"

Maybe things where you live are different, but all i can say is down south he's pretty much known for "ballinnnnn."

I can't even think of another song of his I've heard played on the radio.
