no it isnt. its not a fear but i have heard nver already admit that he paid some guy off at a comic shop to help him out with a thing or two. bottom line is with regards to these debates if you are going to cheat u are going to cheat. no way of knowing.

but i would never claim he cheated just saying i wouldnt put it past him to seek some kind of advantage.

I cannot imagine ANYONE asking a friend "Hey, come over and help me prove that comic book character X beats comic book character Y."

Seriously...

😐.

No, but you could ask advice from different people. Or to at least read over what you wrote 😬

By PM to a friend on the forum? Sure.

But that's just as easy to do in 24 hours.

In real life? It just doesn't seem very realistic. And, besides that, there is nothing wrong with asking someone to review one of your arguments. I know several people that have done just that. Peer-review isn't cheating, 😬.

Yeah Quan. Most of the tournament regulars have friends or teammates look over their arguements. It's just intelligent, not illegal. srsly And as Nvr himself said, you&he are fairly disliked on KMC. And though no one is likely to help you, Nvr has the Mongooses for peer review, if he wishes. 😉 But we won't tell Nvr how to fight. People may ask for scans, or fact check, but at the end of the day, it's your own arguements and debating skills that win battles.

Which is why I respect Goober as a debator. Even if he's a bigger spin doctor than Blair wind. durlaugh 😛

Regarding time limits: 48 hours bare minimum is a much better idea than 24 hours. Real life should always trump forums, (please don't kill me......😗 ) and we have to take that into account.

😆 😆 😆 And yes, Goober is not to be underestimated. I will challenge him against his maker pretty soon.

no one will verse me 🙁

Meh. I say we simply regulate a maximum time of 72 hours, and allow the participants to pick how long they want their match to last, in multiples of one hour.

If they really want a single hour post-blitz, that's cool. If they (for some reason) pick 57 hours, that's cool too.

That way, we don't have to worry about matches extending for weeks and weeks and weeks (and weeks, and weeks, and weeks, and weeks[and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks{and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks}]), but we allow for a satisfactory amount of time, and give the participants one more level of control.

Just an idea.

👆 72 hours is more than enough time to mount a decent arguement.

Meh. A suggestion, nothing more.

Darthgoober's running the show.

Ok people I'm seeing all the concern regarding the time so check it out. Just because the "default" time limit on matches is 24 hours, that doesn't mean that you can't make your match longer if both participants are willing. I set the initial limit because I didn't want the individual Battle Zone matches to seem like a big deal the way tourney matches are. I know quite a few people who are deterred from entering tourney's strictly because of the necessary time investment and I didn't want the Battle Zone to be that way. I've had plenty of quality debates that didn't even last that long, so I honestly don't see why 24 hours isn't sufficient if both parties are prepared when the match starts.

So even though I won't change the "default" time, feel free to have longer matches if you and your opponent are both up to the task.
