Akuma destroyed his island in Alpha 2, with a technique that channeled just about all of his energy into his hand. That ending was canonical I believe.
In one of Gill's endings he splits an ocean. I'm not sure whether or not that's canonical, though that's still an ability of his.
About kicking submarines and splitting mountains, I haven't seen scans of that, yet. By the way, these feats pale to those of Soul Calibur's bosses that I've mentioned.

Remo told me he made a thread there talking about what you just said a really long time ago, like back when I made the Jedah VS Morrigan thread...which is why I started to look at the Udon comics for abilities as well.
I also read in an interview and in the SFEC, where one of the Udon guys says that they work very closely with Capcom and even commented on how little there is on the actual storyline yet they will follow it as close as possible.
The guy even said that they really wanna stick to the story and real powers, which is why you wont find Ryu and Chun Li "making babies" 😆
