WTM and Kelly_Beans BOOM BOOM ROOM!

Ya her mommy is a big girl. I think she will turn a dark bay, Her daddy throws 80% Bays. But with her Momma being a franny and there ALWAYS black, Yea I think she will be nearly black bay.

I get two words mixed up: foal and colt.

Is the foal the female or the colt the female? 😮

Foal is a term used as soon a the baby hits the ground. Foal is like "baby" in the horse world.

But
colt=Male
Filly=Female

Is there such thing as a white or black horse with white or black dots, like a leopard would have?

yea its called a Appaloosas with a Leopard coat. They are one of my favorites.

LOL His real pretty tho. I have an appy but his a mustang appy and not much to look at, His a bay with like a SMALL patch of white on each hip. He runs with the rest of the rescue BLM horses. I always wanted a black appy with a white rump.

My mother used to be a horse rider, her and her sister. She used to get in those competitions where you run around the three (or was it four?) barrels. A really sad story that my Mom told me was when she was younger she had this house in her backyard and it was tied up and somehow it got attacked by a large swarm of bees and it killed it. 🙁

How old do horses live, about 35-40 years, or does it depend on the breed?

Most horses live a short life of 25-30ish years. Oldest horse Ive had was 33 when he had to be put down.

Do you put down lame horses too or are you against that?

I don't see how anyone could do that, honestly. 😬
