Eh. That's hack writing not necessarily poor writing. Strength of will has been a big thing for Xmen, and Storm, especially forever.

It hasn't come out yet but I assume he's playing up the combination of mutant, magic and will power that Storm has to make her a useful conduit. Best guess is that Strange (or a friend) points out it would be stupid for him to be preoccupied.

I love McDuffie. He throws caution at the wind sometimes and so far his FF run has been nothing but fun and great characterization. I was skeptical about Storm and Black Panther being anywhere near another comic but McDuffie blends them in perfectly.
His JLA run so far seems to be a continuation of Season 5 of JLU but as a filler arc I accept it and it's pretty fun.
