If you think he is an idiot(by idiot, I am not referencing his IQ), then the best thing for him to do is to study his ass off until he become more educated. If you do not like the type of civility he currently displays, then a proper education may be a major part of helping bring him closer to a more amicable posting persona.

I have not witnessed the "Houdini-esque" debating style that you speak of. Without even seeing what you are talking about, I can see why a "Houdini-esque" debating style would be frustrating. However, you should treat him kindly enough to not get into trouble.
