Most Iconic Superman

What version of Superman do you think most people assosiate with the character?

When I think of Supes the first thing that comes to mind is the Chris Reeve version

For a lot of non comic readers i'd say Chris Reeve is the most iconic, and probably the first that comes to mind...

Dean Cain, for sure. 😐

😆

Dean Cain can suck my nuts.

Chris Reeve is the best, followed by Tom Welling.

reeve is superman. at least to me he is. prior to my knowledge of george reeves and prior to the reincartion of the franchise in brandon routh, he was the face of superman.

anybody else remember that episode of lois and clark where superman's tights were burned by an iron? WTF!

Most Iconic Superman

For me: George Reeves, by a slight edge. Chris was good, but being in his late 20s at the time he played Superman, he lacked the maturity I always imagined Superman to have (mid 30s, which is roughly how old George was when he played him).

tom welling? shit no...

he's as much a superman as... god i won't say it...

Tom Welling's character on Smallville doesn't resemble Superman at all. Smallville Clark is just awful.

Tom Welling portrays a great version of Superman, you all just don't like it because someone isn't getting their brains pounded in every other minute.

no. we don't like it because of its inaccuraate portrayal of the man of steel...

No, I don't like it because it's episode after episode of Clark having blue balls over Lana and a main story, if you can even call it that, which has gone nowhere in 7 years.

Bullshit. Maybe if you were able to comprehend what's been happening lately you'd know that your argument is completely & utterly false.

Inaccurate portrayal? He hasn't even dawned the suit yet, it's about his road to Superman but then again, I'm talking to people who don't like seeing anything that's related to Superman unless he has the suit on.

Great argument. Will read again. 👆

The thread title asks what's the most iconic version of Superman, not the most iconic version of Superman's origin (in which case Smallville is still dead last).

man, you missed the point completely...

there's nothing wrong with superman's origin, as long as its done properly...

superman 1 = good origin...
smallville = shit origin...

and superman 1's barely lasted what, an hour?

also, what validus said is true... this is the 'most iconic superman' thread...

so your post completely missed the point...
