He could definitely kill Banner, but Hulk might return (it's implied that he's immortal).

but I doubt he could do anything to put down Hulk, bfr is the easiest way out.

fair enough, although now that Thanos is in kahoots with Death again, I'm not that cheesy plot device will save Hulk anymore.
