Drax might be a tad stronger physically though.

Drax is soooo cool, he kinda reminds me of Ridick. To answer the question though. I think Ares will win this one, but will be pretty banged up in the end.

This reminds me of the fight in Chronicles of Riddick where he challenges the guy with the axe towards the beginning, and takes him down rather easily.

Maybe this fight won't be that quick for Drax, but it's speed and skill that will win it for Drax just like it did for Riddick.

Ares is probably THE most skilled weapon user in Marvel.

The handbooks and profiles might say so, but on panel he doesn't show nearly as much skill as Drax.

Drax in Annihilation with those two knives was mowing aliens down.

I think he has.

in Avenger's he has proved himself to be hotheaded, but we've got nothing on his skills. From the Ares miniseries to Incredible Hercules Ares has proved to be pretty capable.

I read the first couple issues of Incredible Herc then I kinda dropped it for a couple months, but from what I saw nothing Ares did impressed me. And like you said, Avengers has just made look look like a bad tempered Roman soldier.
