Bradon Routh is Dylan Dog!
Superman Returns actor Brandon Routh has lined up another comic book adaptation to work on while waiting for the call to don the Man of Steel’s costume again. According to a report on Comic Book Resources Routh will play the lead role in Dead of Night, an adaptation of the Dylan Dog comic book series published by Italy-based SAF Comics. David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, Final Destination 2) will direct the $35 million dollar movie from a screenplay by Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly.
Dylan Dog has been around for just over 20 years. He’s a “nightmare investigator” who looks into paranormal cases throughout Europe. The character is huge in Italty where over one million Dylan Dog comics get sold every month.
So is Routh slumming it taking a role in a comic book movie that’s not well-known in North America? The guy’s career hasn’t been on fire since the opening of Returns, be it by choice or fate. He does have a couple of indie projects in the can and has lined up a part in the adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ The Informers.
