You conceded against me in another thread so that makes us even.

You can keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

I've always found Silver Surfer to be kind of weak sauce.

He's powerful, but he's such a puss, it's basically like a super powered librarian vs. a skilled equally powerful adventurer or something.

Both fighting in character Superman should win more times than not.

You see posts like that are useless in debates. They don't progress or contribute to anything at all.

They're just painfully obnoxious.

And your troll post wasn't? The first sentence alone kils any credibility you might have. I can buy Superman being on a smiliar level of durability as the Surfer but far beyond him? Yeah... 😂

I'd consider Superman to be more durable, but not by any large stretch.

Superman 6-7/10

Fair enough. I feel the same way but in the Surfer's favor.

The way I see it is that Superman is easier to cut or bruise than Surfer (naturally), but can take harder hits before going down.

I think they can take a similar amount of punishment before going down but the Surfer is simply harder to actually damage.

shouldnt surfer take this easily, i mean power cosmic is much more op then anything supes has to offer along with the fact he can turn matter into energy. that means air, the ****ing wind, boom just turned into a blasts. not to mention supes can be beat to death.

Superman's blunt force durability is higher than surfer's.

Superman's durability is so far beyond The Silver Surfer it's ridiculous. WWH's max durability exceeds the Juggernaut, and Superman displayed in the last few issues of Action Comics insane durability that puts him approaching that if not surpassing it what with the crazy amount of damage soak from Solaris going Nova and from his final battle with the other Superman in which he tanked blows that messed with reality. He managed to tag Emperor Joker, who's just as powerful as Mr. Mxy, he'd bricked through magic and Kryptonite and red sun radiation and nuclear bursts several times. He'd gotten pretty strong by the end of the Old DCU continuity. Surfer doesn't really have a prayer. All this talk about transheralds or low skyfather doesn't really mean much when you consider the more outlandish feats of Post-crisis Superman. They were far more consistent the Surfer could ever be as well. Superman's power was well established and universally accepted, and still is among the writers in modern age DC continuity...through various statements and feats.

Good post 👆

I agree 1000%

WWH's durability exceeds Juggernaut's.

lol.

superman 7/10

I keep thinking: in all the DC/Marvel crossovers, the respective heroes fought each other, with one exception (afaik): the Superman/Silver Surfer crossover.

When Superman fought the Hulk and Thor, no doubt the companies had to first agree on who was going to win, plus, they put in 'loopholes' to dull the pain. When Superman fought the Hulk (in the Brothers arc), it was Professor Hulk who lost (not one of Hulk's more powerful incarnations). When Superman beat Thor, it was h2h, wherein Thor later stated he now had Superman's 'measure', implying things would be different next time.

But no such clash happened between the Surfer and Superman. Why?

One could say that, in character, these two would not likely fight. But given the trouble-making presence of Mr. Myx and the Impossible Man, circumstances could have easily been manipulated to get around that.

I think the real reason is this: the companies could not come up with a 'realistic' way one hero could beat the other; the best they would allow was when Superman was impressed with the Surfer's ability to re-enlarge Metropolis.

The above aside, it's too bad they didn't fight. I remember what a letdown that was when I first got the comic. My two favorite characters exchanged not a single blow.

I agree that the crossover was a let-down. Th Surfer got a lot of lip-service about how powerful he was and a good feat but I wanted to see a fight, even if it was just a brief exchange.
