Absolutely. That's the basis for a successful relationship, if you ask me. You can't jump in haedfirst and expect it to work, you have to gradually build a foundation for the relationship to grow from. Kit and I were best friends for 5 years before I finally manned up and asked her out, but everyone already knew it was coming back on day one...
