I just personally hate smileys, they do nothing for me. When it's 4 am and you text someone cuz they won't answer their f*ckin' phone cuz they're txting, and you txt four paragraphs worth of important "pick us up, we're stranded" information, and that person replies with a smiley, you'll feel by pain.
That reminds me. About two months ago my friend txted his dumbass ex that he was breaking up with her ala-Kevin Federline, and she txted him back like an entire novel worth of "Why god, why?!" So he replied with a "grumpy smiley face." She went ballistic on him for that. Smileys can kill.
And the interweb has sooooo overplayed emoticons that they just vex me.
