Blacks cause the abolishment. Whites just declared it legally. Their innards were caving in due to hypocrisy, contradiction and the definition of being an American citizen yet keeping American citizen as slaves. And Lincoln was a racist. He was pro-segregation. **** him.
And why won't i give them credit?, cause they were playing on a field they made uneven after getting a head start. For example Whites made reading and writing a felony for blacks. How could i give credit to a group of people for horribly cheating like that. And since Whites made it it was illegal for Black to read and write, progression was at a stand still while White dishonorably advanced.
So **** those doctors. The most likely hated Blacks too.
No and no. God damn read some history. I'm not even going into deep discussion on this.
1) Blacks were considered PROPERTY.
Remember this: Dred Scott v. Sanford
Black people were property, not citizens. In addition, blacks were only counted as 3/5 a man, so keep in mind that the "4 million" slaves that were claimed in the census around 1860 or so is off a nice bit (not to mention they did not count women or children...)
2) Since blacks are property, the REAL reason for slavery being such a big deal for causing the Civil War is an economic one NOT a moral dillema.
Assuming we go off the 4 million slave number, and take into account that a slave today would amount to around $20,000... do the math. Does not include lost crops and all the other costs that go into what the South would lose.
3) If you actually read into Lincoln and his background and letters, you will find that he first meant to perserve the Union. He was against slavery, but held the duty of president above that. He shared ideas similar to John Brown (although obviously no where near as radical in his speeches).
Here is a excerpt from a letter wrote in 1862 to Horace Greeley's New York Tribune:
If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; and if I could save it but freeing all slaves, I would do it; and I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that. What I do about slavery and the colored race I do because I believe it helps tp save this union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it will help save the Union... I have here stated my purpose according to my view of offical duty and I intend no modifaction of my oft-expressed personal wish that all men, everywhere could be free.
Read some stuff, analyze and then speak before you spew anymore dumb stuff. Can't believe the nerve of some of you.
