Well, to be honest, I wasn't really using that as valid proof just because I'm white. It's just what I usually see happen on the news or to people I know, and I can't think of many other reasons and examples because it's not something that hits me in the face everyday. It's silly to think that white people are on an equal level with black people or any other race for that matter nowadays. If a white person doesn't go to college or doesn't make a lot of money, they're not looked down upon as much than if a black person doesn't go to college or doesn't make a lot of money. A white person would still have a chance of getting ahead in society because of that reason alone - that they're not looked down upon as much. A black person is viewed just as the "usual black person" who is poor and didn't go to college, so they're not given as much sympathy. And sympathy or empathy or just any kind of understanding is something that would help that black person get their foot in the door.
