Maybe now's a good time for me to say this:I wish more people posted like me in tourneys.
😐
Not debating style, or post format. But I sometimes feel like I'm the only one having fun during the process...others are understandably happy if they win, sad if they lose, but in-match posting seems far too combative for my tastes. Rather than being light-hearted at all, or playfully making fun of others (their opponents or themselves occasionally) or at the very least not being a jerk, the norm for tourney posting seem to be to call others (or their plans) retarded, moronic, stupid, questioning peoples' reading comprehension or their intellect, smack-talking their debating in general terms rather than actually breaking down their points logically, accusations of ignoring arguments, etc. etc.
I guess it just saps some of the fun for me, because otherwise the most fun I ever have in a vs. setting is during tourneys. But I occasionally have to choose between ignoring insults in order to remain calm, or respond to animosity with more of my own, which of course usually worsens the situation.

To be fair, it wasn't directed entirely at you. Or even solely at this tournament. Though I did notice my reading comprehension was questioned no less than 3 times in our match, but I decided to ignore it because it didn't seem like you were using it in a terribly derogatory way.

At this point in the tourney I've begun to get more aggressive because of the typical numbers advantage, for both posting and pre-game strategy, held by the other team... so I attempt to counter multiple points at once, and end up coming off sharp, mean, or generally ass-ish.

Especially in this match... I figured I'd end up with occasional posts from Batdude saying "You fail, your plan fails, life fails, etc. etc." haermm

Hehehe. Not that I support that kind of thing from my own team, but I don't presume to play cop...I just deal with my own posts.
