I'm going to admit to being a fanboy in this instance. I've liked Captain Atom since his Charlton days. I liked Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. I liked him in his Post crisis reboot. I was angry at how he was treated in the '90's.l And I like that he's become Monarch so many years after he should have been at the forefront of the DCU.
