Whoah, Neo Dark, if I idn't know any better, I'd say that you have had experience with relationships and stuff.

Perhaps some notice, but they don't wish to impose on you, or they may think that you don't like them, so to not seem foolish they say nothing, perhaps if you sort of slowly work yourself up a bit, sort of start to know them before asking them, that way they feel you really want to be with them and not just some quick expendable date, just keep calm and believe in yourself.
