Did Mike get a new knife?

When Mike gets stabbed in the neck with the big white sewing needle he drops his knife, when he goes up the stairs he has it back...could someone explain to me at the end when they show like...all the rooms and stuff...in the living room where he dropped his knife...it is still there?

There are many things like that in horror films, they happen all the time.

He must have had a spare, killers never leave their crypt without carrying an extra knife, it's just the sensible thing to do. 😛
