The thread topic says "can any mutant beat Thanos", so outside Jaspers and Hom Wanda and the other obvious choices it might be worth asking which mutants, while not at all Thanos' peer, could maybe still pull out a win or two. For instance does anybody think like Magneto or Uber Cable could get 1/20 or even 1/10 against Thanos at their best?

The problem is these are the only mutants who can beat Thanos. The others would go down hard. So, if there's no point in mentioning the usual suspects, then there's no point to the question.

Even then. You could put Nate, Cable, and Magneto together, and they would still get slaughtered by Thanos.

There is a huge jump in power level when it comes to mutants. You have mutants who are just below herald-level, then they jump to abstract level. So, the mutants out there will either be nothing to Thanos or easily defeat him. No middle ground.

I agree, there are only a hand full of mutants that approximate Herald Level (Silver Surfer is the End Game Herald). While Thanos is clearly above Herald. After those handful of characters, you have another few who are clearly above Thanos.

There is no middle ground (as of yet), unless we allow Squirrel Girl.

The Fantastic Four should be considered Mutates right? If yes the Reed, Sue, and Ben could do it with sufficient prep.
