I do not believe that one person could do so much to be thought of as a god. This is simply because that person, at the risk of sounding clichéd, is still "only human". As a mere mortal person, one could not be thought of as a god, because they are still only a single, physical person, rather than the enormous, omnipotent, higher than human, nearly immortal entity that gods have usually been represented as throughout history.
No matter what one person does, I do not believe they could truly be thought of as a god since they are, at their core, still only a human being, and unable to achieve the omnipotence and omniscience most gods throughout history appear to have. A saint, as many have been named, perhaps, but not a god.
To be bound by the limitations of the human species prevents one from becoming a god, or at least a god as most gods are thought of as.
However, I do believe, that the human species itself could be the devil, as we are doing nothing but damaging the planet and destroying all other life.
