The story takes place nowdays and you find out that Altair is one of your ancestors and your objective is to find out who he was ,who he worked for and such so you use this machine called "Animus" which is similar to the Matrix to re-live Altair's quests.

I haven't really read up on Kane & Lynch yet.....cause I wasn't interested in it as much as Army of Two but since it has been delayed till 2008.I might check on K&L.
