I've read that The Joker makes a pencil disappear into
Spoiler:
a person's head.

Strangely this makes me more excited to see it. I'm glad they're going to show Joker as psychotic like they should.

Isn't it funny how much we've evolved?

Back in 1992, we couldn't have a Batman movie with a gruesome looking Penguin, but now we can have a Batman movie where Joker makes a pencil disappear into

Spoiler:
a person's head

😆 😆 😆 😆 The penguin wanting sex and eating raw fish and biting someone's nose was just too much. Though a lot of people complained about Pfeiffer's domantrix Catwoman too

At first, i didnt like the joker's look too much. But with the time and with new pictures and images, he is getting better and better and he looks great, scary and perfect for the joker.

Somebody still tryin' to complain THIS JOKER??
Nolan's portrayal of Batman in the movies is a masterpiece, it' really a comic book in flesh and bones. The Joker's look was good in the 20th century but a reboot and a realistic movie, you cannot show a guy dressed like a cowboy with a purple suit and a cartoon look. The Joker's external look reflects what's inside him, a psycothic and sociopath behavior which do anything with a "funny and brute" attitude in the same time, plus he's also very cunning. This is the way to take the Joker even to the few people who don't know him.
You're so luck the movie don't come out on the 23 like here in italy, I wasn't working I would have come to the USA to watch it as soon as I can. This movie is gonna blow.Ledger should get a post mortem oscar.Ledger deserves it.

The Joker's external look has never reflected what was going on inside of him before. The great thing about the Joker is he looks like a harmless well dressed clown but he'll destroy you without a second thought. This Joker looks dirty.

for me he is getting worse and worse and more of a joke of a villain.

That's exactly right...

He looks like a harmless clown, but he is a psychopathic killer... Batman looks scary and intimidating, but he is really a good guy fighting to save Gotham... That's what the character has always been about, being the opposite of Batman...

A Good guy?
I'd like to remind you a quote from a comic book, forgive me for don't remembering the title, where Batman admits that Supes doesn't smash him into the concrete cause deep inside he's human and good, while he isn't so good, deep inside.

But the point is despite being dressed to horrify, Batman essentially is going to stick to being good or doing the right thing. Where as the Joker, looks like he should be entertaining children, and instead he's getting his kicks from terrorizing and torturing people. Part of the psychoticness of the Joker is he looks like a constantly smiling clown while he's doing all of these horrendous things. THAT'S Scary. Someone who can't stop smiling as they're murdering and destroying. And laughing that high pitched laugh.

This grungy Joker might be scary in his own right but I don't think he is going to reflect the same kind of psychosis and horror that past incarnations did. For one thing in all the trailers I have not seen him do one thing that is darkly twisted or humorous..."joker like" but I am definitely hoping they're just trying to keep it all in the movie and that he will be funny in a scary way during the picture. But his look still is not cool to me.

But he still protects the innocent...

SelinaAndBruce summed it up nicely, so I won't repeat it...

This is what I do not understand from people. He isn't supposed to be funny to you. He's only supposed to be funny to himself. Sure, you might crack a smile or even occasionally belt out a single syllable laugh, but you aren't supposed to break into a gut-wrenching laugh like he does. This is one of the reason's I'm not going to see it on opening night. I intend to wait a few days so that the idiots who go to this movie and think they have to cackle out loud at everything he does will have already fulfilled their idiotic fanboy need to see it and think they get the mindset. Watch the bootleg of the imax theater trailer; you'll hear those morons I'm talking about. He shoots someone and 5 or 6 guys just laugh and laugh. Well, they're the morons that paid 14 bucks to see I Am Legend just because of the preview, just so they could laugh at those parts.

The Joker can be funny to me. He's supposed to be funny but in a situation that's completely unfunny. And not gut wrenching laugh out loud funny but in a way where you can see his twisted humor even in it's psychosis. I'm not expecting him to be like Dave Chappelle funny but I am expecting to be able to see the same humor in his mayhem that he does.

And that is exactly what I'm talking about.

Well, after the screening I caught, I think I can assure you that this Joker is definitly the most disturbing portrayal I've seen. His look perfectly suits his personality. His humor of course only funny to him, his lines that are funniest(I think) are the ones that he didn't intend to be funny.

Heath Ledger owns this role. The movie feels like a crime epic plus Batman instead of an over the top comic movie, this makes in a truly great movie

I've been very pleased with his look since I first was it.

Did you hear people laughing out loud during your screening?

A few times actually, although its not full of laugh out loud parts, there are 1 or 2 moderate laughs and a couple little chuckles
