Undefeated: Hatton vs Mayweather

Started by Discos4 pages

I aint a boxing fan but have seen both Mayweather and Hatton in action, they both seemed alright to match each other but I supported Hatton for one reason, and that is that Mayweather is a cocky shit, I hate people who show off their money and their success.

Ya don't see people like Tom Cruise or Cristiano Ronaldo throwing money at cameras in their interviews.

This aint an excuse but the way the referee handled the match seemed to piss alot of people off, it could have got Hatton some more points

The commentators for Sky Box Office claimed that at the 8th round their counterpart broadcaste colleague at the HBO said they had Hatton 1 point ahead of Mayweather in their score cards - but doesnt matter, Hatton got knocked out, shame it had to happen that way.

i watched the fight for a second time...this time sober...just to have proper look at it

i thought Hatton had the right idea but he was too slow and static going in and out while trying to get on the inside and kept getting clocked by the accurate punching...he was also wasting far too much energy hitting mayweather's gloves...

mayweather played it well though...he turned out of Hatton's left and made it ineffective...he also knew that Hatton had publicised alot of his training and knew he was also concentrating mostly on increasing his power advantage...when he should've been trying to increase his stamina

everyone knows mayweather likes the long fight...winning mostly by landing more punches than his opponents and either getting stoppages or going the distance and getting it on points

he fought the good, smart fight

that shambles in the 6th though...what was that about?

Well, they aren't boxers trying to sell PPVs. He showed after the match it is all an act.

at last a top boxing match again, like in the 1990´s🙂

Mayweather is a cheating prick, holding, elbowing. What happened to "I´m going to go toe to toe", he´s full of shit.

hatton got a point taken off for hitting on the back of the head, what happened a minute later when Mayweather did the same.

The Ref stopped the in fight, Hattons specialty.

Amazing, a Sporting competition where an America fights a foreigner and ALL judges American & the REF is American. In what other serious sport can this situation happen. I´d like to see a world cup final Germany v Brasil with a Germand referee and lines men.

But thats the way it is, and this is a welterweight mirror of what would have happened in a Tyson V Ali fight.

And the fans, brilliant. Didn´t hear the yanks

The fans that booed the national anthem, and the winning fighter- who had a lot of humility- were classless and a disgrace. No wonder English fans are looked down upon when they travel abroad supporting sports.

Then again, I guess they have got something to moan about, what with every referee in the world always screwing them out of every deserved victory.

Great punch on Hatton by the ref for the knockout. Didn't think he would get involved like that, but it was an English fighter.

Um I did think the ref made a few mistakes that favored mayweather, twice in jumped in to break them up when hatton was throwing punches and mayweather was trying to grab him, and then when he took the point away for the back of the head, that was because mayweather kept sticking his head under his arm, and also i think you have to take a point from mayweather for sticking his head in his arm and grabbing constantly if you wanna take one from hatton. However none of this mattered because Mayweather knocked him out. I have no idea what your talking about the ref punching him for a knockout, that simply did not happen.

The fans didn´t boo the Anthem, they boo´d Mayweather who´s face appeared large on the screen at the same time.

Mind you England fans do boo anthems, especially in football, and it is a disgrace.

I doubt it. Either way, they were classless. Good support, but they undermine themselves with that behaviour.

I didn't say the ref made no mistakes. What mattered though, was this:

Rendering all the rest a waste of time.

What?! You didn't see that?

When the ref knocked out Hatton, that I was obviously referring to without any irony?

didnt see it because it didnt happen. I have watched that last sequence that lead to the knockout at least 15 times.

Of course it didn't happen.

Are you particularly troubled by irony?

well....done......you

fetch boy

I think he is meaning that the ref announced Hatton KO'd?

Boxing is weird, I think Hatton may have got up before a 10 count or does that not matter when someone lands a sweet ass strike?

Cotto is alot better than Hatton......

Totally disagree with that, but your opinion is your opinion

i think cotto has the best chance of defeating floyd

He has the power and pretty good technique but his chin is a question mark. He has a hard time being hit on the button and thats exactly where Mayweather would keep hitting.

Great fight last night. Mayweather frakked him up.

Its not just the Ko which decided it, it was the unnecessary point deduction and the breaking up of the in fight which gave Hatton a disadvantage knowing you can´t get a points win in corrupt USA, he then had to go for it in a careless way in the last round and got caught by a lucky punch.

Mayweather should have had points deducted for Holding, turning his back on his opponent and hitting on the back of the head.

Talk about the pot calling the Kettle black. European judges are no better and have been known to for many robberies of there own.

And Hatton straight rabbit punched floyd. In fact reached over the top rope to hit floyd in back of the head. Hatton was out classed plain and simple.0

i actually like both of the fighters, but i agree with most of that and think mayweather was being favored by Cortez. However I dont think the KO came from a lucky punch.

That punch came from momentum, timing, and carelessness on hattons part.

tiredness more than carelessness...if he didn't beat mayweather by the 8th he never would
