The point was and still is that he couldnt do that to Thanos. Hell he couldnt even do that to Superboy and he had tow cracks at him.

It might also interest you to know that alot of the guys Monarch smashed when he took down an entire room (BEFORE he killed 50 Captain Atoms) were not featless wonders. They were named guys, with feats, and some of them were stronger than their New Earth counterparts. No one in Arena was able to touch Monarch. Prime not only hurt him, he ripped a hole into his armor and went toe to toe with him.
Something I put beyond Thanos's capabilities. 🙄

I agree that what Prime did was amazing and was after his amp ran out. But for the most part though Prime went toe to toe with him when he had his amp. He was amped by a Guardian so that definitely increased his power a lot and then when it ran out he ripped open his armor very quickly.
This debate isnt about Thanos vs Monarch.
