Time is of the essence
((THIS POST CONCERN EVERYONE. EVEN THOSE NOT FIGHTING NER'ZHUL))
"Your bravery humor me. As does your attempt to protect your friends"
He thought out loud for Sonic to hear:
"Do you really think that speed will get you an advantage?"
Ner'Zhul took every strike, every kick that Sonic delivered. Even though he felt them, they inflicted no real damage. He knew however why Sonic did what he did. Now it was Ner'Zhuls turn to prove how futile an attempt this was. He clenched his fists and despite being struck numerous times he never lost focus. His body never even moved. Now you will be made clear just how powerful I really am he thought to himself and his eyes flashed white.
At the very same time, inside Ner'Zhuls throneroom the roof disappeared and opened up what could be considered outer space. Ner'Zhul focused, and a thunderstorm of black lightings broke loose inside the throneroom, striking quickly and randomly all over the place. The gravity altered to such an extent that the people inside his throneroom was limited to remaining on the ground. By altering the gravity, he removed their capability to fly and jump, disallowing them to do anything else than to run and hide. The downside for them would be that there was no place to hide. Luck was their greatest protection now. Luck that none of the random black lightingbolts would strike them- for the bolts would not only strike the body, but the soul.
And yet again, at the exactly same time, Ner'Zhul spread his arms and legs, locking target on Sonic's mind with his own. No matter the speed, no matter the distance, now Sonic could not run. Ner'Zhul smashed his fists together and the region that Sonic had teleported him to- disappeared. In its place, they appeared in some sort of white space that by the tongue of the wise would be considered "nothing".
"Your friends are being attacked by black lightings, Sonic. For as long as I am absent from the throneroom, those lightings will keep on coming. The doors are gone and the gravity is working against them.
I can run forever, Sonic. You can fight forever. Question is: CAN THEY? Are you confident enough to think you can defeat me BEFORE the black storm claims its first victim?"
Ner'Zhul so far was unharmed, as if he was inexorable. Inpenetratable. Indestructable. None of the attempts by Sonic had even injured him yet. Not even taken him out of focus.
