Your absolutely right on this account.

I see alot of debate as to the exact circumstances of the fight,
let us all enjoy the entire battle and agree on the artistic depiction. 🙂

Sentry vs WWH:

............................

I thought it was interesting that Hulk survived an attack from Black Bolt
that blew a chunk of Moon rock the size of Rhode Island into space:

Let us proceed,

In the end, all I wanna know is, why did they both turn back to normal humans?

And why did Bob thank Bruce?

Enjoy ....

Let's get ready to do war!

Wow, Imo .... stalemate, until they turned normal and Bob says thanx and falls.

Did Sentry want this?

Was this allowed?

Thoughts?

Pak stated that they exhausted themselves, I believe.

Amadeus Cho in tih#111 said Hulk BEAT Sentry. Deal with it.

Oh yeah, that totally proves it...

I don't think Sentry cared very much either way. I think this was therapy to him, a chance to fully - fully - unload onto someone, someone who wouldn't be missed and was at that time seen as a major threat by the world. he says thank you because he finds relief and peace in that release.

I can't agree with the stalemate idea though. to stalemate it is to top out and not be able to push against the opponent any further. Hulk wasn't even trying. not in the least. he was pretty clear about how he would rather not fight Sentry, he even counselled Sentry on his neurosis (the "all that matters is that you choose" speech).

in all seriousness, this was an anti-climax as far as the overall arc of WWH goes, but it's more satisfying as a meeting of like characters. two troubled 'men' with 'monsters' in their depths.
only that, by this time, Hulk had firmly been established as a stable and dominant personality within (and without) Banner. as well as establishing that there is no real demarcation or delineation between them. Hulk is Banner, Banner is Hulk. it'd be like a kid in a school uniform and the same kid in civvies.

what Pak seems to say is that Sentry's power - at its maximum extent - managed to force Hulk into returning to his Banner form, leaving Sentry spent and done for.
however this isn't the same thing as suggesting Hulk was in anyway done exhausted. he plainly wasn't. in fact they go out of their way to show just how staggeringly powerful he can be when he really does want it - when he really does begin to unleash - with the whole Miek incident.

what we basically saw was a toddler going all out in his little psychotic fury, against a pretty short tempered parent. at the end of the day, the parent never intended to harm the child, but the child was never capable of harming the parent.

Who is to say that after sentry heard hulks speech that(in that instant) had a realization and didnt unload all his power. Cause if he had a change of heart, at that instant that the speech touched him why would he want to kill hulk?

again speculations 😖hifty:

umm, Pak for one. he says that they reverted each other, thus Sentry wailed on Hulk to no effect and Hulk presented him with a big enough target to do so ✅. doubt there's any room for speculation there.

it's the Banner-with-the-glowing-green-eyes bit that creates room for speculation. Pak's on record as saying that it was a moment of true 'equilibrium' between the Banner and the Hulk aspects. suggesting that Hulk wasn't out of gas or anything like it, just happy/at peace and not needing to hit out in rage.
