Yeah, that was the first song I heard by them, I was instantly hooked. I didn't know who they were, so I'd go crazy if they didn't say who they were afterwards. About after 3 times of hearing the song, they said it was by the Dresden Dolls.
They definitely have other great stuff too. I COMPLETELY recommend buying their first self-titled album. It's amazing, and it opened up my mind even more musically.
Zomg, so I got a Dresden Dolls Companion piano/guitar/vocals book. It is beyond awesome.
It has a huge intro written by Amanda Palmer, starting off with her musical influence as a kid, to a teen, to a college student, and how she met Brian, and how things started up, and it's just so interesting! Lots of cool artwork in it, as well as photos, and of course, music. But the music notation has notes made by Amanda in it, it's so funny and cool.
Ah I love this band 😍
I bought their latest album, No, Virginia at Barnes & Noble a few days ago, for about 8 bucks.
Totally worth it. I've only listened to it a handful of times yet, but my favorite songs so far would have to be Night Reconnaissance, and The Mouse and the Model.
If you're getting into the Dresden Dolls, I'd still recommend getting their first album though, and get the rest of their albums in chronological order. But then again, you can probably jump in at any time. I'd recommend the first album for a starter for the more mature crowd, and Yes, Virginia and No, Virginia for the younger crowd, and A is for Accident for any seasoned fan, just 'cause that's a live album.
