When the LT stated that
the IG would bring about the demise of Multiverse the Ultraverse is in,
and perhaps the Multiverse the 616 Reality is in,
the LT called it, "our own Universe"

When the IG was stated to be more powerful than 30 raw Cosmic Containment Units.
(and each Containment Unit at the very least of its potential
can create/warp/destroy an entire Universe ... or trasform one into a Universe)
so go figure.

actually, in a later ish of Quasar we saw a giant Thanos w/IG wrestling with an equal-sized Maelstrom during a clean up mission Elvis was doing for Uatu; IIRC they were playing tug-o-war with the Moon or some other large spatial body.

and if we're gonna get technical then the back hole Mael created WOULDVE destroyed the universe, it was simply stopped/denied the length of time to do it.

and there's absolutely NO proof of any kind that Thanos had the IG in that scene,
in fact, Thanos does NOT have the IG on:

it would've been an alternate Thanos from an off-panel "What if" issue.
Quasar himself passed by a Reality in that trip through dimensions,
where he was depicted in a story that never took place on panel:

While Magus merged multiple UniverseS, including 616.
Thanos overthrew Eternity's totality, Thanos became the center of Reality.
The LT stated the IG would bring about the demise of an entire Multiverse.
4 Gems were creating UniverseS back to back, and stacking them.

If thanos really was God HOW DID THE LT beat him...Thanos is not the one above all.
